Cozy, Clean House in Bloomfield, NJ a suburb of New York City.
This is a cozy 1927 house with all the usual amenities.
Please note - the photos are a bit old, but the house is fundamentally the same. The bathroom and kitchen have been remodeled (and look GREAT!), and we converted the porch into an air-conditioned office.
SPACE & PARKING
There is a medium-sized back garden.
Parking space behind the house for two or three cars.
Additional on-Street Parking.
SLEEPING
Two medium-sized bedrooms with a double bed in one and 2 children's beds in the other (bunk beds). The third small bedroom is used as an office.
Pull-out couch (futon) in living room sleeps two more adults comfortably.
LIVING SPACE
Living Room/Dining Room in same space.
Small but comprehensive kitchen.
Washer and dryer in basement.
Nice street-facing enclosed porch (verandah).Window-mounted air conditioning units (which work well, since the house is small).
CONNECTIONS & PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
There is an express bus to New York City about 15 minutes walk away.
There is a train to New York City about a 5-minute drive away.
The local NJTransit bus 709 stops right outside our door (connects to several train stations and bus termini).

Brian is a linguistics professor at William Paterson University. Jo is a civil engineer at a large engineering firm. Ána and Fiona are now in their late teens (2025).
We like to camp, cycle, and sail (Brian's the sailor). We're musical (there's a keyboard in the dining room, guitars here and there, and an accordeon). We're enthusiastic Volleyball players.
We have a dog, but she will be boarded during the swap.
