Large comfortable house in easy reach of the city centre
WE HAVE CONFIRMED AN EXCHANGE FOR 2025. OUR HOME IS THEREFORE NOT AVAILABLE FOR OTHER EXCHANGES THIS YEAR.
Our home is well furnished, with a large modern kitchen, two living rooms, two double bedrooms and a single bedroom, and two other rooms suitable for home working. We have a small garden with a table and chairs for eating and relaxing outdoors.
The house is well-maintained and well-insulated and runs on renewable energy (solar panels, air source heat pump, battery) with no use of gas.
We live on a quiet road in Cowley, a 45 minute walk from Oxford city centre, or a 15 minutes by bus. The River Thames and beautiful countryside is a short walk away. Oxford has lots of museums, two theatres and a thriving music scene. It is well connected to London with frequent trains taking less than one hour. Day trips are also possible to other destination such as Bath, Winchester, or the Cotswolds.
A car is not essential, but a car-share scheme is available in Oxford with several cars within a 10 minutes walk of our house. E-bikes and scooters can also be rented and are available nearby.

We live in Cowley, a 45 minute walk from Oxford city centre, or 15 minutes by bus. There are supermarkets and a local shopping centre 5 minutes walk from the house. The River Thames and beautiful countryside is a short walk away.
Oxford has lots of museums, two theatres and a thriving music scene. It is well connected to London with frequent trains taking less than one hour. Day trips are also possible by train to other destination such as Bath, Winchester, or the Cotswolds, so a car is not essential.
There is a direct coach service from London Heathrow and London Gatwick airports to Oxford.

We are a semi-retired couple with three adult children who have all left home. We are all non-smokers.
We previously worked in health services. One of us is an experienced medical editor, the other is qualified social worker. We continue to do occasional freelance work.
