From the apartment you will reach the trainstation in less than a 15 minutes walk. Trains for Amsterdam depart twice an hour. The bus stop for Amsterdam is a 3 minutes walk from the apartment, departure 4 times an hour.
Founded in 716, Hoorn rapidly grew to become a major harbour town. You will find a cheesemarket, beautiful stepped gables and sunny terraces.
Volendam is a popular tourist attraction in the Netherlands, well known for its old fishing boats and the traditional clothing still worn by some residents. The women's costume of Volendam, with its high, pointed bonnet, is one of the most recognizable of the Dutch traditional costumes, and is often featured on tourist postcards and posters.
The North Sea for a swim and sandy beaches is reachable at a distance of 30 km.

Wie ist eine warmherzige Gastgeberin und wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.
Die Wohnung war sauber, aber etwas spärlich eingerichtet. Es gab z.B. nicht viel Geschirr, sodass man ständig abwaschen musste. Wil selbst bezeichnete die Ausstattung ihrer Wohnung als „gehobenes Camping“. Unser Aufenthalt war nicht ganz so komfortabel, aber trotzdem wunderbar, und wir können Wil nur empfehlen.
The owner of the property, Wil, was delightful and really helped us understand and appreciate her wonderful region. We would love to return to her area for another exchange.
Frau Bosscha hatte im Februar 2025 mit uns Kontakt aufgebnommen. Wir haben uns dann auf einen Tausch im Oktober 2025 verständigt. Am Tag der Anreise haben wir Frau Bosscha in Hoorn getroffen und sie hat uns Ihre Wohnung gezeigt. Sie ist dann am nächsten Tag mit einer Freundin zu unserem Haus gefahren. Die Kommunikation war sehr freundlich und angenehm. Die Wohnung war sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Von Hoorn aus konnten wir den Norden der Niederlande bereisen. Wir waren unter anderem in Egmond, Bergen, im Zuiderzeemuseum, Volenda und Marken besucht. Es war für uns ein angenehmer Aufenthalt. Wir können die Region und Wil Bosscha als Tauschpartnerin sehr empfehlen.
