detached house in Rennes
Our house has 4 bedrooms, a kitchen and a large living/dining room. It is 10 minutes from the historic centre of Rennes . It is served by many public transport. (Direct connection from the station with the subway). The airport of Rennes is 15 minutes by car, but it can also be reached by bus.
A shopping center with all amenities is 5 min walk from the house (bakery, butcher,pharmacy and supermarket). The surroundings are green. A big park is 2 min walk from the house with ponds and playgrounds for children. It also has a tree climbing area.
Rennes is 1h25 from Paris by train.
Rennes is 45 minutes from St Malo (ferry), where you can enjoy beautiful sandy beaches.
We are 45 minutes from Mont Saint Michel, 2 hours from the landing beaches of Normandy.
Rennes has a great cultural heritage (medieval fortifications, timbered-framed houses, Parliament of Brittany, theater ...) during the month of July, you can attend the festival "tombées de la nuit".
Rennes is a 3 hour drive from Paris (direct connection by train 1H30 Montparnasse station) where you can visit many monuments (chateau de Versailles, Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Champs Elysées) Disneyland is 2h20 away ( by direct train)
Regular markets are held every week in different parts of the city. You can find regional products.
The city center is full of bars and restaurants. You can visit museums.
You can also visit the south of Brittany (Gulf of Morbihan, Carnac)
Many forests are near Rennes (Paimpont, Brocéliande)

We had an excellent experience staying in this home. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Rennes and the surrounding areas. We recommend this family and their lovely home.
A delightful family home on the outskirts of Rennes. Very good access to public transport (both bus and light train) which is easy to use. The house is light and airy. Everywhere was very clean. Nice garden surrounding the house. Very quiet neighbourhood. Easy to reach main roads to visit other centres. Tourist sights in reach - St Malo and Mont St Michel less than an hour. Very good communication with Laetitia and with Pierre.
We really enjoyed our exchange in Rennes. The house is really comfortable. Very easy to get to Rennes city centre by bus. The park across the road is a fabulous amenity with a cool bar, mini golf, ziplining or a nice walk. We enjoyed Cobac Parc for a day. Nantes is only an hours drive away and really worth the visit. Fougeres is beautiful and Rennes City xentre is lovely too, especially on Saturdays for the food markets! We had a great time. Host family were brilliant with communicating with us before and during the trip. They left lots of helpful information about the house and area.
We were grateful for the information on the area which was so thoughtfully provided. The goodies you left were much enjoyed and the garden produce was lovely. Rennes is a great centre for visiting Brittany. We used the group train ticket to visit Morlaix, Vitre and Aurey and went on the bus to Fougeres. All very different and well worth visiting

Our family
We are a family of five with grown-up children who do not always travel with us. We have been home exchanging for 11 years and truly love this way of traveling for its authenticity and the people we meet.
