Cozy village house in the beautiful Lake District in Denmark - only 30 minutes from Aarhus.
Our home is a warm and cozy tree house lying on a quiet street in the small and beautiful village Gammel Rye. We live just next to beautiful nature with hiking trails just outside out door and we live only a 30 minute drive from Aarhus.
Gammel Rye is an ancient village in the middle of the Lake District of Denmark - a beautiful nature sight with many lakes connected by Gudenåen which is the longest river in Jutland.
It is a perfect place if you like to hike, kayak, canoe, mountainbiking, and other outdoor activities.
There is about 1 minute walk from our house to the forrest and Gudenåen is only 1,5 km from our house with great options for canoeing and kayaking.
There is a small lake with a nice child-friendly beach 5 minutes drive or 12 minutes on bike.
Himmelbjerget (Sky Mountain) is the biggest hill in Denmark and 5 minutes by car.
A lot of families live in the village and there are many playgrounds in the area. There is a 15 minute walk or 2 minutes drive to the nearest grocery store.
20 minutes drive to the bigger cities Skanderborg and Silkeborg and 30 minutes drive to Aarhus. Aarhus has a lot of different cultural sights and you will find many beautiful beaches by the sea.
Furthermore Legoland is less than an hour from our house and a large 45 minutes.
The house is from 2001. The groundfloor includes a big and bright livingroom with a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen with all the necessities including an espresso machine and a big gas stove.
There are 3 bedrooms upstairs, 2 double beds and 1 single bed which can be made into a double bed. A babycot is available.
Our garden of 1000 squaremeters is very green with fruit trees and berry bushes.
We have a nice 70 squaremeter tree terrasse with lots of cozy corners.
The garden and terrasse is turning to South-West which gives abundant sunlight all day long.
We have a lot of nice neighbours who will make you feel at home.

We are a family of four. Kasper is a dentist and Anne is a doctor. We have to girls age 1 and 3.
In our spare time we spend a lot of time with our friends, enjoy outdoor activities and travelling. We love meeting new people and experience new cultures and have been travelling all over Europe besides Tanzania, Kenya and East Asia. We lived in Greenland for 7 months in 2021.
We love house swapping, and Anne has done about 10 Intervac-house swaps as a child, and we made 2 swaps as a couple in our old apartment in Copenhagen.
