Flat near Portofino, and Florence Italy
Hi everyone! We are a family of four: me, wife Sarah, son Nicholas (24), daughter Isabel (22). We are exchanging our Summer home of SANTA MARHERITA LIGURE in the beautiful Italian Riviera (Riviera di Levante, east of Genoa).
Santa Margherita Ligure is an aristocratic, leisurely turn-of-the-century town with luxurious mansions and elegant Victorian houses. It is located right at the foothills of the Monte di Portofino National Park, (listed as a World Patrimony Heritage by Unesco) so there are plenty of superb hikes, especially off-season. The trails are varied in extent and difficulty, both through beautiful woods and along the coast.
Our house in Santa Margherita is a vacation house, so do not expect any fancy furniture but a cosy - and we believe - pleasant accommodation with its own special character. There is no beach view but there is indeed a balcony overlooking the hills where you can relax or even dine looking at the sunset. And the beach is literally five minutes away.
Being our second home we are open to a series of different possibilities: from a weekend to a three-week exchange; it does not need to be the same period for both parties. You can come when you wish and we would get a "credit" for your house for the same length of time during a period to be established when convenient.
We hope you will enjoy our accommodations and the endless possibilities of their surroundings as much as we do.
We also exchange a nice little flat in the center of FLORENCE (Piazza Beccaria) form half of July 2021 on. See Pictures!

we are a couple of teachers. Sarah is American and teaches english in the University of Turin and Alessandro is Italian and teaches philosophy in Florence. Our children live, study and work in England.

CA101We had a wonderful experience staying in the flat in Santa Margherita de Ligure, and really enjoyed the town and surrounding area. The flat was very convenient to shopping, restaurants and an easy walk to the train station and other transport allowing us to explore the region easily. The flat was as described and very comfortable for our stay. Communication with our exchange partners was good, and any questions we had were quickly answered. A great experience overall!

They were extremely friendly, enthusiastic and left the house absolutely spotless. We enjoyed hearing about their experiences in our house and local area, and the adventures of Shappy (our cat)!
It was a delight to host them and would welcome them back at any stage and we are very excited about staying in their apartment in Italy.

The train station is at a short walking distance, so are the town centre, the shops (including bakeries), the sea, the port, a park, the tourist office and the bus stop to visit the area. The condominium is quiet. The flat is well equipped and the mattresses good. There was a useful pile of flyers and brochures + good advice for hikes and good foccacia places.
The area around Santa Margherita is gorgeous. Santa Margherita is a very pleasant place to stay and very well located to go to Camogli, Portofino, Sestri Levante... hiking, by bus, by train or by boat.
It was easy to communicate with Alessandro and Sarah.
We completely recommend this exchange!
